With rain in the forecast we loaded up the cars and headed out for what would be a fun day regardless of the weather. V.A.G. fair in York, PA is always a great show with a wonderful atmosphere and this year followed suit.
We arrived early to set up our ‘booth’ in the vendor area despite the looming storm clouds that broke not long after we got the tent set up. We waited out the rain while cars were rolling in and checked out the vendor area once it had stopped. I was anticipating the Madness on the Midway contest for the past couple weeks so I went straight to that area to see what was on hand and was very impressed at the quality of the cars. Joe Adams with a maroon mk4 sporting a very clean engine bay, pictured below, took first place and a spot in Top Dawg at h2oi. The show field was packed full of interesting things and quality vehicles, I think I saw a uni-cycle on the roof rack of one car and the engine bay full of beer cans deserves an honorable mention. It was great to see everyone hanging out and having a good time in the different tents on the show field as well, that’s what attending these shows is all about after all, hanging out with friends and having a blast. We didn’t hang around long once the horrible rain storm started, we got the cars packed just as the first drops started to fall and took to the flooded streets to head home.
Speed Happens is already planning on attending V.A.G. Fair next year, there is word of a two day event being held, keep your fingers crossed. This is one of the shows you must attend if you are into the scene at all and like to have a good time, we will see you next year!
